How to share a contact from an iPhone

This short guide is a reference tool to help refresh your knowledge or practise what you have learned in the How to share a contact from an iPhone online video course.

Step by step

You can share the contact from your iPhone to another phone via a text message or SMS by following the steps below:

From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon to open the app.
Tap the Contacts icon at the bottom of the screen.
From your list of contacts, find the person whose details you want to share and tap on their name.
From the contact card that opens, tap Share Contact.
Check the details you want to share, then tap Done.
From the Share menu that appears, tap the Messages icon.
The Messages app opens, showing the contact details you want to share.
You can add a recipient by tapping the plus icon and searching your contact list, or entering a new number in the To field. You can also start typing the name or number of a saved contact to see suggestions.
Tap on the name of the person you want to share the Contact with.
The message now displays with the recipient and contact details, and you can tap the Send arrow to share it.
