How do I access online services in Western Australia?

For residents of WA, government services can be accessed via wa.gov.au. If you need help with this or any WA government website, look for the Contact Us link on the website’s home page. This will take you to a page with various contact options.

wa.gov.au and your personal information

You might need to enter personal information when:

  • Paying for something, such as vehicle registration
  • Applying for a concession or rebate
  • Filling out a form online, such as a change of address form.

The personal information you need to provide depends on the service you are using. You can read the Western Australian government’s Privacy policy by entering www.wa.gov.au/privacy in your web browser’s search bar.

What to do if you get lost

If you’re ever unsure where you are on the website, type wa.gov.au in your browser’s search bar and press Enter. This will take you back to the main WA government website.

Using wa.gov.au to access essential services

There are quite a few different government services websites in WA, and the wa.gov.au website helps you find what you need.

  • Click Browse all information and services to see a list of categories
  • Click any category to explore it, for example Transport
  • A new page opens, and you can see Popular Services at the top
  • Click any popular service to see a page with more information.

While the wa.gov.au site helps you find services, some are actually hosted on other government websites. Links to other websites appear in a black box, so you know when you are about to leave wa.gov.au. If you don’t want to go to another website right now, click the Back button in your web browser.

How to search for services

To quickly find a service you want, use the Search WA.gov.au bar in the top right of the home page. When you search, you’ll see a list of results. Click any result to go to a page with more information.

How to find government agencies

Sometimes it can be easier to find a service by visiting a government agency’s website:

  • Click Find an agency at the top of the wa.gov.au home page
  • Click the agency name to open a panel with some more details, including that agency’s phone number
  • Click the Find out more link at the top of this panel, to go that agency’s website.

What is the ConcessionsWA website?

The WA Government has created a useful ConcessionsWA website that gathers concessions and savings in one place. There you can:

  • Browse concessions by category, such as Accommodation and Housing, Travel and transport, or Tourism
  • Browse concessions by concession card, including the Pensioner Concession Card, the WA Seniors Card, and others.

Finding petrol prices near you

The WA Government has created a website called FuelWatch, to help you find the cheapest petrol prices near you. The website is fuelwatch.wa.gov.au.

  • Enter your postcode to see fuel prices in your area
  • Click on the map to move it around with your mouse.
It’s safe to let FuelWatch know your postcode, as the website won’t save this when you finish using the site and close your browser.

Finding rebates on wa.gov.au

To find rebates on the wa.gov.au, type rebate into the Search WA.gov.au bar at the top right of the home page. The What can we do for you today? search results page will show a list of pages that are about rebates.

You can choose to view rebates available from wa.gov.au only, or rebates from all WA Government websites. Click on a search result to visit that page and find out about the rebate.

It’s worth checking regularly, to see if any new rebates have been announced.

Finding lost or unclaimed money

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s (ASIC) MoneySmart website at moneysmart.gov.au helps you claim lost money. This can be from such things as lost bank accounts, shares, investments and life insurance policies. The MoneySmart website also explains how to use my.gov.au and the ATO, to claim lost superannuation.
