South Australian government websites

How do I access online services in South Australia?

www.sa.gov.au has information about all government services, and lets you access those services directly.

service.sa.gov.au makes it easy for you to access things you need to do, and may take you over to www.sa.gov.au to access a service.

The mySA GOV app lets you quickly access some services, and can also show your digital licence and proof of vaccination.

If you’re having trouble with the websites or app, you can call on 13 10 84 between 9:00am and 5:00pm, and speak to a representative, who will help you get what you need.

Your mySA GOV account

Some government services ask you to log in as a proof of identity. You will know when you need to do this when you see the mySA GOV log in link:

  • Click the mySA GOV log in link
  • The Log in page will appear
  • Click Create an account
  • You’ll need to provide an email address, and create a strong password
  • Click Create an account again
  • Look in your email for a link to confirm your account.
When you create your account, you can choose a strong password to protect it. Make sure not to use the same password as any other service or account.

Using mySA GOV to prove your digital identity

Some government services require you to prove your identity using documentation. You can update your mySA GOV account to work as proof of identity. After you create your account:

  • Click Confirm the identity for an...
  • Click Individual
  • Provide your South Australian driver licence details
  • Provide the 10 digital Vehicle payment number from your car’s Registration Renewal form.

If you don’t have a South Australian driver licence or you don’t have a vehicle registered in your name, call 1300 450 422 during business hours, for help with confirming your identity.

How to manage your shared personal details

Click the My account link to see some option to:

  • Change the email you use to log in
  • Change your password
  • Add security questions to make your account more secure
  • Add a mobile phone number to get notifications via text.

What to do if you get lost

If you’re ever unsure where you are on the www.sa.gov.au website, click the SA.GOV.AU logo in the top left of the page. This will take you back to the www.sa.gov.au home page. On some pages, you can click the service sa logo to go back to the Service SA home page.

Services you can access via service.sa.gov.au

Service SA lets you access services to do with driving and licensing, such as:

  • Apply for or renew a driver licence
  • Check your demerit points
  • Renew your registration.

Essential services you can access via www.sa.gov.au

To access a service, scroll down the www.sa.gov.au home page until you see a grid of categories. Click a category to see a list of services. Some example services you can access include:

  • Births, deaths and marriages
  • Rights and law
  • Planning and property
  • Care and support

Some services are hosted on other government websites. You can tell when you're being directed to a different website because when the address in your browser's address bar changes. If you don’t want to go to another website right now, click the Back button in your web browser.

How to find savings on www.sa.gov.au

There’s lots of information on www.sa.gov.au about how to save on everyday bills. Type save in the search bar at the top of the site, to see a list of results that focus on savings.

Finding petrol prices near you

The Consumer and Business Services website has a list of apps and websites you can use to check petrol prices in South Australia. Some of these have an app, others also include a website. These fuel price websites and apps aren’t associated with the South Australian Government.

Losing your wallet

Under the Care and support category, you can find Concessions and grants. Click this to visit the Concession finder, which helps you apply for concessions including:

  • The Transport Concession Card
  • Residential parks resident card
  • Senior’s card.

Using the Services A to Z page to find rebates

The easiest way to see all the rebates available in one place, is to use the www.sa.gov.au Services A to Z page. On the www.sa.gov.au home page:

  • Click About SA
  • Click Services A to Z
  • On the page that appears, click Concessions, rebates and grants
  • A panel will open, showing all available rebates.

Finding lost or unclaimed money

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s (ASIC) MoneySmart website at moneysmart.gov.au helps you claim lost money. This can be from such things as lost bank accounts, shares, investments and life insurance policies. The MoneySmart website also explains how to use my.gov.au and the ATO, to claim lost superannuation.
