The modern smartphone is a computer that you can carry around in your pocket. It does more than just make phone calls (although it can still do that); it can also be used to surf the internet, play games, video chat with other people, play music, pay bills, and many other things.

Some smartphones have a physical Home button below the screen. Instead of pressing the power button to turn on your phone’s screen, you can press the Home button instead.
To turn a smartphone on, you need to press the power button, which will be located on the side of phone. Depending on your phone model, you will need to press and hold the power or volume button until a menu appears on the screen. Tap or slide the power off option to turn the phone off.
A phone has a built-in battery, and you will need to recharge this regularly by plugging the phone into a charger, and then plugging that charger into mains power.
