How to print the guide
or save as a pdfThe new way to print or save the guide uses your home printer options and a lot less toner than before. But don't worry if you don't have a home printer, you can still follow the steps to save the file as a pdf as normal. Let's look at the steps involved for different devices.

Laptop and desktop computers: print the guide
- In the Print the guide area at the bottom of the course page, click once on the Print or save link for the language you want.
- The printable guide will open up in a new tab where you can read it. You will also see a large Print button located in the top right-hand corner.
- Click once on this Print button, and a printer dialogue panel will pop up.
- Near the top of the panel will be some options to select on whether you want to save the file or print it. On most computers this option will be called Printer or Destination.
- If the printer or destination isn't showing your home printer's name, click once on the little down arrow next to the option shown. You can then click on the name of your home printer from the list of available printers.
- You can also modify how you'd like the guide to be printed using the other options in this panel.
- Once you have selected all the options you want, click on the Print button on the printer dialogue panel.
- Collect your guide from your printer and enjoy!
Laptop and desktop computers: save as pdf
- In the Print the guide area at the bottom of the course page, click once on the Print or save link for the language you want.
- The printable guide will open up in a new tab where you can read it. You will also see a large Print button located in the top right-hand corner.
- Click once on this Print button, and a printer dialogue panel will pop up (regardless of whether you have a printer at home or not).
- Near the top of the panel will be some options to select on whether you want to save the file or print it. On most computers this option will be called Printer or Destination.
- If the destination isn't showing Save as PDF, click once on the little down arrow next to the option shown. You can then click on the Save as PDF option to select it.
- Depending on your browser and computer, there may be more settings to choose from. You can make your selections from these options and, when ready, click once on the Save button.
- Depending on your computer's settings, the pdf will either save to the normal downloads folder, or you will be prompted to choose where you'd like to save your file.
- Enjoy your saved guide, which you can now access directly from your computer, even when you're offline.
Smartphones and tablets: print the guide
The steps may vary depending on what brand of device and browser you are using, but they should be similar enough for you to follow along.
- In the Print the guide area at the bottom of the course page, tap once on the Print or save link for the language you want.
- The printable guide will open up in a new tab where you can read it. You will also see a large Print button located at the top of the page.
- Tap once on this Print button, and a printer dialogue panel will pop up.
- The top option will usually show you the name of the printer your smart device has connected to in the past. If this name isn't correct, tap on the printer name and your device will search for a different printer. Tap on the correct printer name to select it.
- Choose from the other options available to customise your print out.
- When ready, tap the Print button at the top of the screen.
- Collect your guide from your printer and enjoy!
Smartphones and tablets: save as pdf
The steps may vary depending on what brand of device and browser you are using, but they should be similar enough for you to follow along.
- In the Print the guide area at the bottom of the course page, tap once on the Print or save link for the language you want.
- The printable guide will open up in a new tab where you can read it. You will also see a large Print button located at the top of the page.
- Tap once on this Print button, and a printer dialogue panel will pop up.
- On some devices, particularly on Android devices, you will be able to choose the Save as PDF from the list of available printers. Tap on this option to save the guide. You will be prompted by your device to choose a location to save the pdf, from where you can retrieve it later.
- If you don't have this option, particularly on Apple devices, there are a couple more steps to take. Under the printer options panel, you will see a preview of the first page of the document. Tap and hold this preview picture. This will show a zoomed-in view of the first page. Release your finger.
- Tap and hold the zoomed-in preview once more. The screen updates and you will see a share icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen - it looks like a page with an arrow pointing up. Tap on this icon.
- A new set of options will appear, including sharing the file to others via text or email. Scroll down to the bottom of this page, past the email and text options, until you see the Save to Files menu option. Tap on it.
- Select where you'd like to save your pdf from the list of options e.g. On My iPhone. Tape the blue Save button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- On all devices, you will be able to retrieve your pdf from the Files or My Files app at any time, even when you're offline.
