What’s been a key moment in a webinar that reinforced why you like teaching them so much?

Recently an 85-year-old woman learnt how to use Skype in a webinar. Two weeks later she set up a regular connection with her grandchildren in the UK and was reading storybooks to them each day. Sometimes a little thing can change a person’s life.

Are you ever surprised by the people that join your webinars?

I am often surprised by the wide range of skill sets of people who do the webinars. There are beginners who have worked through the screen prompts to connect to their first ever webinar and the regulars who come back to every one of my sessions.

What do people enjoy most about webinars?

Taking away a tip, an idea, a concept or a new skill is something I try to provide everyone who joins my webinars. I like them to feel good about being able to achieve something new.

Can you tell us what normally goes on in a webinar?

When you register, you’ll be sent a confirmation and reminder email for the webinar. About 15 minutes before the webinar starts, click the link in the reminder email and it should open up the webinar site and you will see the presenter’s screen. You can see the presenter, but he can’t see you. You can ask questions by typing them in the question box, or you can just watch and listen.
