How to find concessions on nt.gov.au

Keeping up with all the bills and expenses of modern living can feel like a full-time job in itself!

There's lots of information on nt.gov.au about how to save on these everyday bills.

Type concessions in the search bar and press the Enter key on your keyboard, and you'll see a list of various concessions.

Click any search result to go to a page with more information about that concession.

Accessing the NT Concession Scheme

On the nt.gov.au home page, first click Community support and care, then Concessions and payments, and then NT Concession Scheme.

Here you can find out about concessions that help with living expenses, including:

  • Council rates and garbage services
  • Electricity
  • Water and sewerage
  • NT driver license and vehicle registration
  • Spectacles.

Finding petrol prices near you

The Northern Territory Government has created a website named MyFuelNT, to help you find the cheapest petrol prices near you.

Type myfuelnt.nt.gov.au in your web browser's address bar and then press the Enter key. You can then enter your postcode to see real time fuel prices in your area.

You can also click Fuel near me to see fuel prices near your home. This will require you to give your web browser permission to share your location. You should only agree if you are comfortable sharing your address with the website.

eSafety tip

It's safe to let the MyFuelNT website know your browser's location, because this won't be uploaded to the internet.

Unless you click the Remember my settings box, MyFuelNT won't save your location either, when you finish using the site and close your browser.

Well done!

This is the end of the Discovering everyday savings activity. You've learned how the Northern Territory Government websites can help you save money on your regular expenses.

Up next, the Claiming rebates and lost superannuation activity will show you how to find government rebates for things such as gas or electricity, and how to apply for them.
