The Digital Assistant

myGov provides a Digital Assistant to help you with some of the most common questions you might have.

As this feature doesn't access your personal account details, you can access the Digital Assistant even if you are not signed in.

On the myGov website, look to the right-hand side of the screen and click on the black Assistant button to open the myGov Digital Assistant.

Ask a question

The Assistant works best when you type a single word rather than a whole sentence.

Where it says Type your message, enter your query and then click on the Send button to submit it.

When you submit a query, the Digital Assistant may return a whole list of responses, so you may need to scroll this list to find what you are looking for.

Digital Assistant suggestions

Once you’ve viewed the answer to your question, you can scroll down the box a bit more to see some suggestions about things relevant to your questions. For instance, as we’ve asked about passwords, the digital assistant may show us information about rules for choosing a password.

Helpdesk phone number

You can always call the myGov helpdesk on 13 23 07 if you need to speak to a person about your question.

You can call the helpdesk from 7am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and from 10am to 5pm on weekends.

If you are travelling overseas and need help, there is also useful international number you can call: +61 1300 169 468.

myGov has telephone support to help you answer any questions.
