Welcome to the "How to block an email in Gmail" video course. In this video, you'll learn how to block unwanted emails in Gmail web mail. This demonstration uses the Chrome browser on a Windows computer, but the steps are similar on a mobile device.
From your Inbox, click on an email from the sender you want to block to open the message. In the top right, click the More menu. It looks like three vertical dots. From the dropdown list, you'll notice Block and the sender's name. Click on it. A pop-up box will ask you to confirm that you want to block the sender. Click the Block button.
At the top of the email, a grey alert message allows you to unblock the sender if you've changed your mind or move the email to the spam folder. Click Move to spam.
The email is deleted from your Inbox, and Gmail will automatically send future messages from the sender's email address to your Spam folder. This helps keep your Inbox clutter-free and only for messages that matter to you. A sender won't know that you've blocked them, and it may take a couple of days before you stop receiving unwanted emails from them.
