Welcome to the 'Checking your data limit and usage on an iPhone' video course. In this video, you'll learn how to see how much mobile data you've used on your iPhone. Keeping an eye on your data helps you avoid unexpected charges on your bill and makes sure you don't run out before the end of your monthly plan.
From the Home screen, open the Settings app, which looks like a cogwheel. Once the settings menu opens, tap mobile. Scroll down until you see a section headed Mobile Data. And below it, Current Period. The number on the right is a total of all the mobile data your phone has used since the counter was last reset. The data figure on your phone is an estimate and may not exactly match what your mobile provider records.
For the most accurate reading, check your provider's app. You can set the counter to start at the date your mobile plan and data limit resets each month, so that the figure reflects what you've used in the current billing period.
To do this, you can scroll to the bottom of the screen, and tap Reset Statistics, then follow the steps. For more information about your data usage, scroll back up to the Mobile Data section. You'll see a list of some of the apps on your phone and how much data each one has used.
This can help you spot which apps are using the most data. To see how much every app on your phone is using, tap Show All at the bottom of the list.
